Medicare for All

The company had essentially spelled out Sanders’s counterargument for him

Vox:

The company had essentially spelled out Sanders’s counterargument for him. As employers use health care costs as a negotiation tactic, this kind of thing is bound to happen more. And for Sanders, it’s the perfect case for doing away with the current system.

“Under Medicare-for-all, whether you’re working, whether you’re not working, whether you go from one job to another job, it’s right there with you,” Sanders said at the event.

In an effort to spotlight the corporate greed…

In an effort to “spotlight the corporate greed that has taken over the American healthcare system” and driven up the costs of life-saving drugs, Sen. Bernie Sanders announced Thursday that he plans to travel to Canada later this month with a caravan of diabetics looking to purchase affordable insulin.

“Insulin costs over $300 [per vial] in the U.S.,” tweeted Sanders, a 2020 Democratic presidential candidate. “In Canada, the same exact drug costs about $30. We can’t wait for drug companies to lower prices. Americans need relief now!”

Biden’s Healthcare Plan is Just Great – As Long as You Don’t Need Healthcare

After spending the past week sniping at Medicare for All with insurance industry talking points, 2020 Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden on Monday unveiled a healthcare plan that one analyst said could cause the deaths of around 125,000 people over the first ten years by leaving millions of Americans uninsured.

“Even if you suppose that Biden’s estimate is right and the uninsurance rate does go to three percent, that still implies an enormous amount of unnecessary death caused by a lack of insurance,” Bruenig said. “One commonly-used (e.g. by CAP) estimate states that one unnecessary death occurs annually for every 830 uninsured people. This means that during the first 10 years of Bidencare, over 125,000 unnecessary deaths will occur from uninsurance.”

Biden “doesn’t have time” to explain his healthcare plan

Because his “healthcare plan” amounts to “whatever the insurance industry wants.”

As Joe Biden storms through Iowa and prepares for his first visit as a presidential candidate in South Carolina, the Democratic front-runner has said he doesn’t “have the time” to lay out the details of his healthcare plan.

“I don’t have time; I don’t want to keep you standing any longer,” Mr Biden said recently in Iowa City, declining to lay out his vision for America’s healthcare future to the assembled crowd, according to POLITICO.

This year Medicare for All has the greatest support it’s ever had

This year Medicare for All has the greatest support across the country that it has ever had.

If we had a Congress that wasn’t bought-off, that support would translate into political action to save American lives.

No, PayGo is not about fiscal responsibility.

No, folks, PayGo is not the Speaker being fiscally responsible. That’s the lie they’d like you to believe. Speaker Pelosi can get around PayGo and pass any budget bill she wants, simply by using the emergency provision. Declare it an emergency budget proposal, and PayGo is irrelevant.

It’s a rule change, not a federal law. The next House session can suspend PayGo, or adopt new rules with a simple majority. Republicans have done this several times.

The only Constitutional requirement is that the House adopts its rules, or the Senate adopts its rules with a simple majority of the quorum present. Speaker Pelosi could suspend PayGo tomorrow with half the caucus present, provided it was a simple majority of the votes present at the time.

PayGo has nothing to do with “fiscal responsibility.” Not one thing.

PayGo is a poison pill to kill Medicare for All, and any other progressive legislation that would upset Speaker Pelosi’s meal ticket in the health insurance industry. That’s all it’s for.
